The paid deal sharing program guarantees a minimum payment for every deal shared on Vimu.
For more information on Vimu read the FAQ.
The program is currently running for Sydney only.
The amount paid for each deal varies from $2 to $30 based on the quality of the deal, and how long it runs for.
As each deal is approved it's given a score from 0 to 100 which will determine it's value.
You can see how much you've been paid for a deal once it's been approved by going to your Vimu control panel (see the link at the bottom of the page). The amount paid for each deal is listed next to it.
Deals are scored based on the value given to Vimu members, and how popular we think they'll be. Basically the higher the discount, the better the score.
For instance a free coffee with every sandwich at a cafe would probably get a score around 10, while 50% off the entire bill at a nice restaurant would score around 90.
Deals which are exclusive to Vimu are also given a higher score.
It's fine to list deals which you find on websites or other sources, however the most you'll usually be paid for these non-exclusive deals is $5.
This reflects the time involved in arranging exclusive deals with businesses, rather than simply performing a cut-and-paste from another website.
Invoices are processed each Friday for new deal sharers (for the first 4 weeks), and then monthly after that on the 4th working day of the month.
The minimum payment amount is $20.
To be paid send an invoice to accounts@weekendnotes.com detailing the total amount to be paid along with payment details before the invoice processing date.
Australian residents are paid via bank transfer, so remember to include bank account details.
A simple email invoice is fine. You do not need to send the invoice as an attachment.
Once you've been paid more that $100, you'll need an Australian Business Number (ABN).
You can apply for an ABN here.
It's a simple process and also allows you to claim work related purchases as tax deductions.
Quote your ABN number on your email invoice.
To apply for the paid deal sharing program:
1) Register on Vimu here.
2) Share at least 5 deals and have them approved. The deals can be from anywhere, they don't have to be exclusive. You'll be paid for these deals once you're approved for the program.
3) Send an email to apply@vimu.com and we'll flag your account as being part of the paid deal sharing program.
We are looking for any deals which are useful to people living in Sydney.
Entertainment and recreation deals are usually the most popular, along with shopping and travel.
All deals must be genuine, and discounts should be an actual discount from the normal retail price.
Deals which are found to be inaccurate or misleading won't be paid.
Deals can be found on tv, radio, websites, in newspapers or magazines, or from a friend.
It's fine to list these "non-exclusive" deals, however exclusive deals will be given a higher score and the only way to arrange them is to talk to the business directly.
Ring them up or visit the shop, mention that you belong to the Vimu Discount Club, and ask for a discount that you'll share with thousands of other Vimu members.
They'll either give you the discount on the spot (great!), ask for more information, or tell you that they're not interested.
If they ask for more information refer them to Vimu.com, or send them an email containing more details. You will need to contact most businesses 2 or 3 times before obtaining a deal.
Note that visiting or phoning a business is always much more effective than sending an email (by a factor of around 20).
With exclusive deals always remember to arrange a way for the Vimu member to access the deal that the business owner has agreed to.
Do they just need to mention Vimu? Do they need to print off the deal page? Do they need to mention a coupon code?
Each member has a unique coupon code displayed on each deal page which can be checked at Vimu.com to see if it's genuine.
There is currently no limit to the number of deals you can share on Vimu under the paid sharing program.
However we reserve the right to bring in a limit, change payment levels, or terminate the program at any time.
If the program is terminated all deals which have already been approved will be paid.
